This boat trip will take us from Port de Alcudia to the beautiful spot of Formentor Beach, passing the dramatic Cape of Formentor.
Our boat will leave at 11:15 from Port de Alcudia, and during the first part of the boat trip we will see the Bay of Alcudia, passing the luxurious area of Aucanada and its lighthouse. Then the landscape changes completely, and we can see how abrupt the coast is with spectacular cliffs.
We will pass es Coll Baix beach, and then will cruise across Pollensa Bay, passing one of the highlights of the excursion, the Cape of Formentor. There, the views are amazing: the cliffs, the limestone and the famous Formentor Lighthouse.
Formentor Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, and of course, we will take the opportunity to stop there and enjoy time for a swim in the crystal waters for one hour.
After that, we will start the way back to the Bay of Alcudia. On the boat there is a bar area, in case you want to have something to eat or drink (at your own expense).
Customer Reviews for the Boat Trip to Formentor Lighthouse
The lady who was taking the tickets at the pier outside the sunwing hotel was extremely rude and shouted at me. We arrived 30 mins early, the boat was late by 10 mins and we became nervous so we went to check with people at the end of the pier. I contacted no frills on WhatsApp, they were very helpful and said the boat would come in 5 mins and asked if I was at the end of the pier waiting. Then the lady for the tickets came, she was angry and said I should have gave the ticket at the start of the pier, we did not see her when we arrived. She started shouting saying it was her boat and her company and that I’d booked through a tour operator and I should give the ticket at the start of the pier. (Ok, but how was I supposed to know and it was a genuine mistake that we did not see her to give the tickets) she then said she could take the ticket as she was there now?? It was completely unnecessary and rude and I was pretty shocked. If someone booked through a tour operator, they are still a customer and you should still be respectful and polite. Honestly, if I had not already paid I would have walked away in that moment based on how the lady made me feel. Luckily all the staff on the boat were lovely and the trip was really nice. The beach is gorgeous, pity that you don’t get to stay longer but we knew that. Worth taking the trip, it’s a nice excursion with fantastic views. The boat was pretty busy so no seats upstairs but it was fine, there are still places to sit at the front and rear of the boat and the views were stunning 😍
Easy booking process. Boat arrived on time with plenty of space. The tannoy wasn't brilliant so it was hard to hear what was being said at times. We stopped off at a cove and a few people took the opportunity to jump into the sea which was nice. Formentor beach was pretty, not very big so appears crowded. We agree with other people, you only get an hour which wasn't enough time to enjoy the area. Trip back was nice. Overall good experience, it was my children's first time on the boat and they liked it.
We boarded the catamaran at Alcudia beach and sailed on time. Sadly there was no greeting or commentary from the crew as to where we were, or informâtion about rock formations or coves until 25 minutes into the tour. The captain said the names of the last cove, this cove & the next cove. We don’t know what the Cap Formentor was exactly or where we were swimming. When arriving at what was Formentor beach it was crowded with not enough time to swim and have a drink or lunch. The scenery was beautiful with spectacular rock formations and the sea is a stunning blue/ turquoise. We arrived back at the port at 15:15 hours, an hour earlier than stated. Overall I would have liked more commentary and more time on the beach.
Beautiful trip. Only we haven’t seen cap formentor because the crew told us it was to dangerous. We didn’t get a compensation
Took the boat trip to cap tormentor. Amazing views, fantastic crew, overall great experience. Plenty of space on board uptop and down below. Highly recommend. Got off for a swim for 45 mins and back on board for the rest of the trip.
Very nice boat trip had a really lovely time. Very few seats available however and felt very crowded on the way to the beach mainly because the port of Alcudia is the last pick up. Not long until the beach however and then there is an equal chance. Can recommend getting back to the boat 15 mins before it sets back off. 1 hour is definitely not enough time at Formentor beach felt very rushed. Lovely trip back with some stunning views. 10/10 would recommend this trip however.
Fantastic, value for money, trip on a fantastic boat with a great crew. The beach stop-off to Formentor Beach was a highlight of our family holiday!
Good trip
Great boat trip with incredible views the only downfall is once you get to formentor beach the hour stop if you get is just not long enough. It goes so fast this would be an absolutely beautiful day out if the stop was maybe 2 hours long not just 1. I’d definitely pay a little more of it meant be able to stay abit longer. Boat crew were very polite and helpful. This is my second time on this trip first time we got to anchor down for 20 mins in the sea and it topped the trip off. 9/10 for me. Give it a go you won’t be disappointed
The meeting point is in fact the hut next to Alcúdia jets and not behind the tourist information shed. Make sure you get there early, luckily we did and figured out that’s where we was meant to go as we actually left before our departure time. Overall the boat trip was very basic which is reflected in the price. You get 1 hour at the beach to swim. We left port at 11:30 and didn’t arrive back until 3:30 ish. So most of this time was travelling.
