This horse riding in Can Picafort experience was one of the highlights of our Mallorca holiday. The route through the forest and along the Son Bauló area was peaceful and scenic, with beautiful views of Alcudia Bay. As beginners, we felt completely safe thanks to the professional instructors and well-trained horses. Everything was well organised, from the pickup to the riding instructions, making it a stress-free and authentic Mallorca activity.
Our guide seemed stressed and not having a good time - not speaking a single word to us and watching her phone the whole ride. She did not introduce herself at all or even tell us her name. If we needed any info we would have to ask - even then she had very short answers. We didn’t even get the horses name or any info on them. Everyone can have a bad day - but afterwards we read many reviews about the same guide being very unresponsive and “not caring”. The owner however, is very nice. It also seemed like some of the other guide were more chatty - we crossed paths with one. The horses were very well behaved and felt very safe. It was a nice ride, even when we were riding with no info whatsoever… We have been riding in many countries now and this one was definitely not the best, mainly because of the guide - or no guidance I would say. I’m not sure about the animal welfare also - it seemed like the horses were tied up for a long time - most of the day (?) we were the last ride of the day, so we are not sure - other than that the horses seemed well fed.
I did the 1 hour and 3 hour horse riding experience. The 1 hour is great through the trees and you get the option to have a canter in which I did. I took my daughter with me who can ride walk and trot but as she is only 6 she had no option but to ride a horse and not a pony. She was apprehensive of this but the owner lead her and she was quite happy and he looked after her and giving her high fives throughout the ride and she absolutely enjoyed herself. The horses are very well behaved and my daughter had Latina and I rode gorgeous Larosso who is such a gentleman and forward going but comes back lovely. I then took Larosso on the 3 hour beach ride without my daughter and I had a blast! Gallops along the beach me plenty of trotting with a break for a drink half way though! I would highly recommend and will be coming back when I visit Majorca again. After reading reviews regarding the owner, he is lovely and such a character with a heart of gold. Yes he is loud but a proper Mallorcan man. I loved this about him and he looked after my daughter.

It was just a great experience, from the beginning to the End! Very friendly staff. We were picked up on time and the ride in the forest wonderful. It was my first ride!

When we arrived, it looked like a factory. A lot of horses were already standing saddled and too close next to each other so sometimes they kicked eachother. There was no food or water. The ride was okay, but when we came back the other horses were still standing there waiting for the next ride.
