This excursion is available on Thursdays and Sundays. Unfortunately, on Sundays we do not offer pick-up service from Puerto Pollensa. Guests staying in this area who wish to join the excursion must make their own way to the meeting point in Puerto de Alcudia.
What to expect on this trip:
We will take you to discover the famous Soller Railway on this brand new half day tour. This is your chance to experience the more than 100-year old wooden carriage train in a half day tour. The trip doesn't start until midday, so you can sleep in and have breakfast in peace.
We will collect you at around 13:15-14:15 from a meeting point close to your hotel and we will drive you by coach to the station in Palma. Here you will board the vintage wooden train that will take you to Soller. The train, one of the oldest in Spain, passes through beautiful countryside on the route towards the mountains and then passes through tunnels, leading to the Soller Valley where you will have the most magnificent views of your holiday.
You will have approximately 35 minutes to enjoy Soller, the most stunning town in the Serra de Tramuntana, with its eclectic architecture and privileged location, surrounded by the impressive mountains. You will have time to stoll through the pretty streets, enjoy an ice cream made from the famous Soller oranges or visit the stunning church and main square.
Then we continue our adventure aboard the charming tram. Enjoy a scenic 25-minute journey through the picturesque valley, descending towards the enchanting Port Soller. Take in the panoramic views of the port during our 40-minute stop, before we make our way back, ensuring you make the most of this unforgettable excursion. We will return from Port Soller by coach at around 18:00.
This Soller Train and Tram half-day tour includes transport, guiding and the full railway experience.
Food and drinks are not included in the price and must be purchased separately during the excursion. Any personal expenses, such as ice creams, snacks or souvenirs in Sóller or Port de Sóller, are also not included.

Arrival at Palma train station: In time to board the train.
Note: Exact pick-up times will be confirmed after booking.
Train departure from Palma to Sóller: 15:10.
Train journey duration: Approximately 1 hour, travelling through the Tramuntana mountains.
Free time in Sóller: Until approximately 17:00.
Tram departure from Sóller to Port de Sóller: Around 17:30 (approx. 20-minute journey).
Free time in Port de Sóller: Until approximately 18:30.
Return to resorts by coach: Between 18:30 and 19:30.
Drop-off at resorts: From 19:30 onwards, depending on location.
The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:
For clients not staying in the north area, we offer an alternative meeting point at the Mallorca Outlet shopping center, located on the outskirts of Palma. There is free parking available, and our pick-up time is at 14:10. On the return journey, you will also be dropped off at the same location.

Enjoyed the train ride although it was hectic with vast amount of people. Tram was ok but felt it was a bit pointless packed snd not much to see. Tour guide was excellent. Not enough time to get coffee or drink as places were very busy. Overall it was good and would recommend it. Although it was a half day excursion it was still 7 hours from when we were picked up at 1 oc to drop back to hotel at 8. So very tiring day still.
Altivita zodpovedala popisu, t.j. išlo hlavne o vlak. Čas bol na 3 zastávkach na wc a malé osvieženie. Sprievodkyňa fajn. Za mňa to splnilo očakávania, keďže v Sólleri som už bol a chcel som si užiť vlak + električku. Zrejme mamto vyšlo lacnejšie ako na svoju päsť ísť autom na stanicu a platiť si na všetko spiatočný lístok. Jedným smerom to úplne stačilo a ušetril som čas. Za mňa jediné mínus, že v prístave sme vystupovali hneď na začiatku (kvôli dostupnosti na pláž a parkovisko), čakal som, že sa v električke preveziem popri mori. Ale odporúčam.
The train ride was lovely but tram was packed with lack of seating. We had only 20 minutes in Soller which was inadequate ,only time to use toilet and get ice cream before being herded onto the tram to the port. This was lovely location but again little time to enjoy it,approximately 30 minutes, before being taken to the coaches for return trip. The coach ride was over an hour each way with drop offs. I would recommend extending to enable more time at the town and port to get real value otherwise its probably better to make your own way to Palma to pick up the train and enjoy more time at stops to offset the amount of travel time involved. The guide worked very hard to keep the group to the schedule required but I felt stressed to adhere to the timetable and this detracted from the enjoyment of the very short stops.We spent 5 + hours travelling with less than an hour in total to enjoy the stops
We had a great day out on our half day trip to Sóller. Both my kids love trains and our guide Ester was brilliant. She spent time with the kids teaching them the history of the train and about Sóller. The coach was comfortable and air conditioned, thanks Julio! The views on the way up to Sóller are spectacular and after you get down to the cost on the tram it's a picturesque spot for a beer or ice cream. Overall a great experience with punctual collection and drop off. The half day tour is ideal if you don't want to be gone all day. Thanks Ester & Julio!
Wow, we had an incredible experience on the half day Soller express tour. Antonia, our guide was fantastic, excellent English and German, and so informative about the areas we visited and the landscapes we passed on our journey. The trains were great fun, and Soller and Port Soller beautiful for whistle stop visits! Thank you for an excellent tour no frills!
As a couple, we wanted to experience the famous historic Sóller train without having to dedicate a full day of our holiday to it. We chose this afternoon option from NoFrills Excursions and the management fully met our expectations from start to finish. The service includes transfers in an air-conditioned coach, the assistance of a guide with English commentary, and all tickets reserved in advance, which avoids surprises. The journey on the vintage train lasts about an hour through spectacular landscapes and, after a brief stop in Sóller to admire its architecture, the tram takes you down in 25 minutes to Port de Sóller. We had enough time in both places to take panoramic photographs and walk through the streets, returning by coach around 18:30 to our point of origin. We consider it to be one of the best value-for-money excursions in Mallorca if you are looking to optimize your time. We would like to highlight the kindness of both the guide and the bus driver, who were extremely professional and pleasant throughout the entire tour.
We traveled with the kids from the north of the island and the afternoon schedule was perfect to avoid tiring them out. We were picked up at 13:15 near our hotel and taken to Palma to catch the old vintage wooden train. The kids really enjoyed crossing the tunnels along the route, and the views of the valley are magnificent. In Sóller we had about 35 minutes of free time, just enough to see the main square, the church, and try the local orange ice cream. Then we went down on the tram to Port de Sóller where we had another 40 minutes to walk around before the coach picked us up at 18:00. A very punctual local company and a highly recommended excursion to do as a family.
A wonderful and very well-organized afternoon, with no early wake-up calls thanks to the air-conditioned coach picking us up after 1:00 PM. The 50-minute journey on the old train from Palma to Sóller is beautiful and very comfortable, ideal for exploring the Serra de Tramuntana while relaxing. Both the guide and the bus driver were lovely, very attentive to those of us who are a bit older. Excellent value for money.
I was looking for excursions in Mallorca that wouldn't take up the whole day and this afternoon one was a total success. The 25-minute tram ride down to the port is super cool and the bus driver handled the curves perfectly. The guide who accompanied us spoke English and gave us very interesting commentary about the areas we passed. Highly recommended if you want to sleep in!
The wooden train is amazing and the mountain scenery is incredible. Great organization by NoFrills Excursions keeping a whole carriage just for our group, it’s so nice to travel without the queues!
